22 February: ‘Writing & Resistance: The White Rose Pamphlets – A Live Reading’ | To mark the 78th anniversary of the first White Rose trial on 22 February 1943 there was a live reading of the White Rose’s resistance pamphlets, translated from German into English by student members of the White Rose Project. 18 March: ‘Meet the Author: Kip Wilson’ – reading and discussion with Kip Wilson, author of the award-winning Young Adult historical novel-in-verse White Rose. Click here to find out more and register for this free event. Postponed.

17 March: ‘The White Rose in Text and Song’ – a recital of German Lieder interspersed with readings from the White Rose members’ pamphlets, letters, and diaries in English (5pm-6.30pm, Shulman Auditorium, The Queen’s College). Admission is free, but registration is required as seating is limited. Registration is open here. 22 February, 1pm: ‘The White Rose Resistance in Their Own Words’ – lunchtime lecture with Dr Alex Lloyd at the Weston Library Lecture Theatre, University of Oxford, 1-2pm. Please register here.

22 February, 7.30pm: The White Rose: Voices from the German Resistance – performance at the University Church of St Mary the Virgin (High Street, Oxford) in collaboration with the award-winning vocal ensemble SANSARA. Ancient and modern choral works will be performed alongside readings from the White Rose resistance group’s letters and diaries. The majority of these texts have never appeared in English and speak movingly of courage and conscience. The programme includes Philip Moore, Three Prayers of Dietrich Bonhoeffer; Rudolf Mauersberger, Wie liegt die Stadt so wüst; Arvo Pärt, Da pacem Domine. 31 January: Workshop at Arden Academy, Solihull (internal event). Dr Lloyd ran a 2-hour workshop with sixth formers on the White Rose resistance and their pamphlets.
