Aims and Objectives

The principal aim of the White Rose Project is to bring the story of the White Rose (Weiße Rose) resistance group to an English-speaking audience. It does by integrating research, translation work with students, outreach to secondary schools, and through collaborations with partners in the creative industries.

This is by no means the first time the White Rose has been researched and disseminated to an English-speaking, or specifically UK, audience. We are building on foundations laid by scholars over the past thirty years. However, there is still much to be done, particularly in translating important source material and opening up new avenues of research into the group. The message and writings of the White Rose seem particularly relevant and powerful at the present time.
